Teddy Bridgewater signed a three year $63 million dollar contract with the Carolina Panthers this past March. He will be the starting quarterback replacing Cam Newton who signed a one year deal with the Patriots. The Panthers made an awesome buy. Bridgewater will be an absolute star for the Panthers. Bridgewater went 5-0 with the Saints last season replacing an injured Drew Brees with 9 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, and 1384 yards with a 67.86% pass completion.
Drafted in 2014 by the Minnesota Vikings, Bridgewater went on to win the 2014 Pepsi Rookie of the year and was selected for the pro bowl the following year. He then got injured in a team practice at the beginning of the 2016 season and went on to miss the next two seasons. He was traded to the Jets and ultimately wound up in New Orleans where he served as the back up for Brees and got a bit of playing time at the beginning of last season due to Brees's injury.
Those 5 games last season was his chance to prove to teams what they should have known all along, that he has franchise potential and should definitely be given a chance to prove it as a first-string quarterback. I'm looking forward to watching him and McCaffrey in action on the Panthers offense this upcoming season.
